Have you ever crossed your Jordan River? Are you moving or stagnant? Where does your feet and your faith bring you? These three questions stayed with me - thinking and reflecting where my faith has brought me? Last May 18, 2017, I had a chance to be with my fellow Chapter A2 members to attend our monthly Prayer Assembly. As we had our opening worship to our Lord God and after hearing the exhortation of Bro. Mharvs Roces, I asked myself “have I really crossed my 'Jordan River' "?
I remember the time prior to my exit in Oman. It was Lenten season and I was so afraid of what will happen to me there. As I heeded the advice of one of our sisters in SFC, she said that all the temptations and trials will come, so taking God’s words to my heart and obeying Him will lead me to victory. Know that the Lord will always be with us, pray always, surrender and trust Him in everything and let Him be your tour guide and travel buddy. Take all the emotional experiences and challenges as you go through the reality of life. Be a missionary in your own way following God’s will. Life is a continuous study, so you must READ, REACT, RESEARCH, REMIND, REFLECT AND REDIRECT. For a while, try to be the person that you have always dreamed of, be the superhero of your own movie. Consider all temptations and trials your great adventure. Trust that every moment, situation, and all person you will encounter will teach you something great and valuable. You must stand firm in your faith and trust that God will never leave us. For He will never bring about trials we cannot surpass.
God’s word is the lamp unto our feet and light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). Trust and seek God, and you shall find the right path. You might feel lost in times of trials and difficulties, just have faith in God’s promises that He will never leave you and that He will be there to guide you and protect you until the end. Trust that God’s plan is the best plan; He will answer all your heart’s deepest desire in His own perfect time as long as it is according to His will. As Psalms 37:4 says “Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desire of your heart.”
According to James 2:17, “Faith without is action is dead.” Praying without believing and doing is useless. We should learn how to ‘walk the talk’. Although, it is very challenging to be good and ideal followers of Christ, to the young and mature in faith alike, just keep in mind that we are all work in progress of God’s mercy and love. Do not be discouraged when you feel like you failed God. Reflect and repent, and try your best to leave your bad habits and actions behind. Grow with God and trust His plans. Let God’s love reign over our lives, let Jesus’ sacrifice reminds us that life on earth is short and temporary, and empower the Holy Spirit to lead us with everything we do for the rest of our God-centered lives. If we can achieve this, then we can ensure our victory in the spiritual warfare happening inside each and every one of us. So, ask yourself, have you crossed your Jordan River?
For that may, God be praised!
