HouseHold Head Workshop By: Sis. Maria Larissa Apostol

A Reflection:

After attending House Hold Orientation workshop I get a better understanding of the context “House Hold” and “House Hold Leader.” At first I thought that a House Hold is just a simple small group. It consist of 5-6 people who put up together to form a small group to pray, to chat or to simply gather together. But through the months of spending with my House Hold I get a better understanding of what is it really stands for. It’s not just about building friendship, getting along with each other, praying for each other,  having someone you can talk to, having someone to accompany you but most importantly it’s supporting each other towards knowing God

Motivating each other to get to know God, accompany each other to walk towards God. It is not just about building up your relationship with people rather building your relationship with God with the help of others as well. Because people as we are we sometimes get easily tired, we tends to forget something, sometime we didn’t see what other see so we need other people to help us recognize and understand those things that we didn’t see. “House Hold Leaders” I always look up to this people. I saw how passionate and dedicated they are on their responsibilities on their House Hold. They have the opportunity to motivate and to influence someone’s thought and beliefs. They set as a model to their house hold members. If the head of the house hold didn’t practice what she/he preaches then there will be no harmony in the group. So I think they have the very important role in the SFC community because they are also the one who will make a bridge for each of her member to connect with God without forgetting her own self as well. So I really look up to those people who have the courage to take the task and able to make a difference in the lives of others.

My CLP Experience Christian Life Program: Unbox Your Faith By Bro Joseph Fruto

“A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stamp, a god-shaped life is a flourishing tree”  -Proverbs 11:28   We are in the world where people give so much avidness to wealth, technology, trend, etc. At some point we forget to nourish our spiritual need. That is to live life with love, humility and gratitude. It may sound impossible to put into action but yes, it is possible with a great faith to God we can outshine the good and surmount the greatest challenge of being Christian and live life with meaning. Before I was invited to join the Christian Life Program (CLP), I know that there is God and I believe in Him. From a family that doesn’t religiously go to church we don’t see it as a duty of being a Christian. So long I don’t do detrimental things I am therefore a good Christian. At the age of 21 I tried my luck abroad, I worked in Saudi hoping to speed up my career and help my family. Being away was a struggle and homesickness was the enemy I fought each ...

Christian Character Weekend By Sis Vianca Peregrina

After all the 6 talks in CCW, all I can say is that, it's the most remarkable teaching for me because I was able to immediately apply it in my life. This teaching has welcomed us with the reminder that our emotions should always be guided by the Holy Spirit because it can impact our character. The talk about Character of Humility has made me realize that acknowledging others and neglecting yourself is not how humility works, it is false humility and refusing to see the art God created within us. Instead, Humility is acknowledging that God has created ALL of us individually unique and because our God is fair and our perfect creator, He wrote each one of us equally beautiful plans ahead of us. If we keep this perspective and truth, we start appreciating ourselves, and being happy with ourselves gives us sufficient love for our neighbors. Appreciating ourselves and our neighbors is appreciating God's work. The character of Courage simply taught me that fear is normal, ...
