EXPLORE. EXPERIENCE. ENCOUNTER. SFC Pre-ICON 2017 By: Sis. Sheila dela Ostia (SFC A2A Sharjah)

…Valentine’s day Party …Beach Party …White Rave Party!!

Isn’t it exciting? A party to end each of our day in Pre-ICON last February 14-16, 2017.  As I looked at the final reminder, more than just a party it is the many activities prepared by the team that excite me the most.  I know that this will be extra special because the venue is in Iloilo where I spent my college years and Guimaras, and for the first time, I’ll be attending with my sister, Quennie.

Though first day of the event I was sick, it doesn’t hinder me to joyfully know new brothers and sisters in the community.  As we feel the love and care for each other, we extended the love of God to the people outside the community through different socio-civic activities, visiting a center of young adults with disabilities and giving goods to our Aeta brothers and sisters in Guimaras.

It was an awesome moment when we had our morning worship by the beach and at the mountaintop of Balaan na Krus (Holy Cross) in Guimaras. Though the journey towards the top of the mountain is tiring and it takes us some time, but as we go nearer, we see the cross at the top, and it gives us strength to continue climbing because we already see our destination. It is like our spiritual journey, at times we feel so tired, weak and feel that we are drifting away, but we should not lose hope that our God is always journeying with us until the end.

Let us be brave and courageous to go out from our comfort zone. Indeed, it is not about the parties! But, my pre-ICON 2017 moments were summed up by the theme itself.. EXPLORE. EXPERIENCE. ENCOUNTER.

May God be praised!

The day was filled with joy and excitement hearing seven inspiring talks from different speakers who also gave their time, talent and treasure who served as our inspiration of how blissful they are serving and living their life faithfully to the Lord. Talk 1: Our Covenant and the Mission and Vision    It was explained and made us understand the deeper meaning of what Covenant is all about. Covenant is a solemn lifetime or long-term agreement of not just between two equal parties, but between a greater or more powerful person.  Being in SFC and Christians as a whole who chose to follow ...

My CLP Experience Christian Life Program: Unbox Your Faith By Bro Joseph Fruto

“A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stamp, a god-shaped life is a flourishing tree”  -Proverbs 11:28   We are in the world where people give so much avidness to wealth, technology, trend, etc. At some point we forget to nourish our spiritual need. That is to live life with love, humility and gratitude. It may sound impossible to put into action but yes, it is possible with a great faith to God we can outshine the good and surmount the greatest challenge of being Christian and live life with meaning. Before I was invited to join the Christian Life Program (CLP), I know that there is God and I believe in Him. From a family that doesn’t religiously go to church we don’t see it as a duty of being a Christian. So long I don’t do detrimental things I am therefore a good Christian. At the age of 21 I tried my luck abroad, I worked in Saudi hoping to speed up my career and help my family. Being away was a struggle and homesickness was the enemy I fought each ...
