When One Door Closes, Another Opens By Bro Lebert Omac

Growing up, I always hear and read that when one door closes for you, believe that another will open. It’s the same as saying that when you get rejected by an opportunity you really wanted; believe that another one is coming your way.

I have no doubt about this and I firmly believe as I experienced this many times. When I first arrived in UAE, I am hopeful that I will get a job related to my profession in the Philippines. Yet after 2 months of searching and application, I found myself working in retail.

I asked God why it happened. This question stayed in my mind for quite some time until I was able to accept that there were really reasons why I am in that situation. As months and years passed by, I learned to love my job and acquired new learning and skills as well. The business was booming and every month we received commissions until one month our salary was delayed for few days. And another month the salary was delayed for a week and so and so forth.

Fortunately, our growing competitor then (where I work now) was opening a lot of branches therefore they looked for applicants who already knew the job and ready for deployment. My manager then was working with this new company and he called me if I am willing to join them. I initially turned down the offer since I was planning to look for any office job as I miss working with two days off. After two weeks my manager again called me asking for my decision and finally I accepted his offer as it’s hard for me to stay jobless that time.

So I resigned and left the company on 31st of October 2017 with two month salary pending, airline tickets and end of service benefits. And the company stopped operation 2nd week of November of 2017 therefore I didn’t get all of my pending though we filed a case in court but still ended up cancelling it myself.

I cancelled my employment visa with the previous company and submitted all the necessary documents for the processing of my new company visa. It was processed smoothly and I just waited for 18 days to start working with the new company which I believe is faster than others.

Finally, I’m back on track after all the stress and uncertainties I encountered with the previous company. Little by little I was able to keep track of my finances again and blessed to go home for a 30-days vacation last March to April to attend the college graduation of our youngest brother despite the fact that I’m only 4 months working with the new company.

I also received my salary in advance which helped in my expenses during the vacation. Though honestly speaking, I gave my tithes late. But still the Lord is gracious enough to provide for my needs. He never fails me every time I need Him most.

Until now, I still have a lot of questions in mind but I just lift them up to the Lord for I already proved it countless times that He’s just there always ready to listen and help me even if I won’t call Him for He cares and loves me.

Indeed, brothers and sisters always believe that when one door closes, another will open for you. You may not understand it at first but stay hopeful that God will answer your questions in due time. Just trust in Him for He trusts in you.

If you are in a difficult situation right now, remind yourself that there’s hope in everything as long as you hope with Jesus.

God bless you!

My CLP Experience Christian Life Program: Unbox Your Faith By Bro Joseph Fruto

“A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stamp, a god-shaped life is a flourishing tree”  -Proverbs 11:28   We are in the world where people give so much avidness to wealth, technology, trend, etc. At some point we forget to nourish our spiritual need. That is to live life with love, humility and gratitude. It may sound impossible to put into action but yes, it is possible with a great faith to God we can outshine the good and surmount the greatest challenge of being Christian and live life with meaning. Before I was invited to join the Christian Life Program (CLP), I know that there is God and I believe in Him. From a family that doesn’t religiously go to church we don’t see it as a duty of being a Christian. So long I don’t do detrimental things I am therefore a good Christian. At the age of 21 I tried my luck abroad, I worked in Saudi hoping to speed up my career and help my family. Being away was a struggle and homesickness was the enemy I fought each ...

Christian Character Weekend By Sis Vianca Peregrina

After all the 6 talks in CCW, all I can say is that, it's the most remarkable teaching for me because I was able to immediately apply it in my life. This teaching has welcomed us with the reminder that our emotions should always be guided by the Holy Spirit because it can impact our character. The talk about Character of Humility has made me realize that acknowledging others and neglecting yourself is not how humility works, it is false humility and refusing to see the art God created within us. Instead, Humility is acknowledging that God has created ALL of us individually unique and because our God is fair and our perfect creator, He wrote each one of us equally beautiful plans ahead of us. If we keep this perspective and truth, we start appreciating ourselves, and being happy with ourselves gives us sufficient love for our neighbors. Appreciating ourselves and our neighbors is appreciating God's work. The character of Courage simply taught me that fear is normal, ...
