ONE Abu Dhabi, Won!!! By Bro Lloyd Pangan

Where there is unity there is always victory.
                                                                    - Publilius Syrus

From morning till dusk, tension and expectations arise but not one person drops the hype to give their all for this year’s Singolympics 2018. Preparation after preparations, practice after practice day in and day out everyone where all excited for the start of Singolympics, everyone arrived at GEMS Wellington International School in Dubai with their game faces on. Nine teams from different areas are ready to give their all and claim victory for their team. The event started with the parade of each team starting From Dubai Pink Panthers, Dubai Red Warriors, Dubai Blue Titans, Dubai Mighty Blazing Purple, and adding to the growing number of Dubai is the new team of Dubai Turquoise, Northern Emirates Yellow Guardians, Al Ain Orange Guardians, Abu Dhabi Yellow Green Trailblazers, and the Abu dhabi Green Majestic Circo. All teams together with their mascots and Mr. and Ms. Singolympic candidates made their way into the field with smiles on their faces and excitement fired up the place to start the sports event of the year, following after the parade was the traditional Lighting of Torch that was passed by each members of the respective teams, symbolizing the unity and camaraderie of all teams. And to keep us fueled and to ignite our spirits Bro. Fed Genobili lead us into a powerful worship.

The biggest sports event of this year of the SFC community was officially opened by Tito Calvin Paquibut who all gave us an inspiration and reminded us all that through this activity that through sports and sportsmanship we can all feel the presence of a loving God. And also Bro. Jethro Ivan Aradaza lead us to the Oath of Sportsmanship.

Of course, no singolypmics will be completed without the competition of the Mascots and Mr. & Ms. Singolympics 2018, screaming, cheering and yelling out each candidate’s name for each teams, everyone was truly amazed by the presence of this year’s candidates, Beauty and brains definitely poured out that day, from Abu Dhabi 1 Green Majestic Circo’s candidate was Bro. Symon dela Cruz and Sis. Dia, who was out there and ready to knock off other candidates with their boxing sportswear and from Abu Dhabi 2 Yellow Green Trailblazers was Bro. Luigi “True Gentleman” Alejandro and Sis. Jaylyn Estrelado and with the Mascots of each team who in my opinion was truly creative and gave their best for the criteria of “One Earth” from Abu Dhabi 1 was Bro JM Avelino as the, and Sis. Tata Faburada who walked and owned the field in total confidence and fierce as the Queen Trailblazer. After the catwalks and Q and A’s was the most awaited, ground shaking Cheer Dance Competition, were in all dancers were ready and all fired-up to perform and to give their all on the dance floor. All our judges had a really hard time on evaluating and giving their scores for each representatives, Tito Calvin Paquibut, Tito Eugene Vilbar and Bro. Myke Matibag (former Abs-Cbn TFc Correspondent) made sure that all scoring system was fair and no biases was made.

Let the games begin! As our Emcees shouted it out, all games for ball games, board games and fun games started, each games was packed with viewers who supported all their teams, from ball games to board games and even the  fun games were all jam packed with each players and their cheerers and supporters. Fun games was an all-out fun and everybody enjoyed it which I think Sleeping bag worm was the most enjoyed fun games that day and the overall winner was the Abu Dhabi 2 Yellow green Trailblazers, 100m dash (sisters) came from Abu Dhabi 2 who again this year’s winner was Sis. Nympha Miguel and a grand slam winner for three years in a row, 200m dash (brothers) was from Al Ain. Board games (Game of the Generals) was won also by AUH2, and from Lawn Tennis 1st place was from abu dhabi 1, and lawn tennis mixed from abu dhabi 2. Basketball for both brothers and sisters division winners both came from Abu Dhabi 1.

And of course the much awaited announcements This Years winner for Mr. Singolympics 2018 was no other than Bro. Luigi “Real gentleman” Alejandro, who gave the best answer from the Question and answer portion and who was true enough a real gentleman to his partner  from Abu Dhabi 2 Sis. Jaylyn Estrellado who was stunning that day. Ms. Singolypmics 2018 winner was from the Dubai red team. Banner champion was taken by Al Ain and the mascot as well. And the most awaited Cheer dance competition, crowd is in total rage on who this year will win the championship, and that would be The Yellow Green Trailblazers, who for the longest time has been eyeing to regain and bring back home the trophy, and that just really proves that all blood, sweat and tears really paid off, seeing them through their practices every night with all emotions put into it and as they plan with everything from the steps to its synchronization they have truly proven that they are this year’s Cheer dance Champion.

But wait, the much coveted Over-all Championship trophy is still up for grabs, coming in 2nd runner up is The Green Majestic Circo (Abu Dhabi 1), and the 1st runner up was last year’s over all champion the Orange Guardians Al Ain, and this year’s Over-all Champ is THE YELLOW GREEN TRAILBLAZERS! Just as it was announced everyone from both teams of Abu Dhabi Area broke loose, screaming and yelling One Abu Dhabi. And the Over-all Trophy is now that is back to its true home. True enough One Abu Dhabi, WON!

This service is just another representation of our oneness in spirit to give back and lift up the glory of God, and this kind of competition shows that whatever disagreement or argument we face with each other God’s victory will always prevail, that also in time of serving God and the community, God will always talk to you even in the time that you are battling yourself from being burnout on the services you are doing, and all that you have to do is to rely on God’s understanding that what He is doing for your life, you may try to sneak out of this community but God will just guide you to a more closer relationship with him and make you realize that you were never tired from serving but you are just in a point that you have to only rely on God’s purpose for you.

This sweet victory would never be possible without the help of all the service team, to whom I really appreciate all the efforts and energy they have exerted for this years Singolymics, all were responsible enough and has been flexible with their time everyday, puyatan is real for this service but when everything has been said and done all those sleepless nights and preparation were really worth it. I praise God for each and everyone for your presence for this service and I pray that in time of you are being tired of serving let us just look back to the time that God has paved the way and prepared all the graces and blessings in our lives.

To God be all the glory.

My CLP Experience Christian Life Program: Unbox Your Faith By Bro Joseph Fruto

“A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stamp, a god-shaped life is a flourishing tree”  -Proverbs 11:28   We are in the world where people give so much avidness to wealth, technology, trend, etc. At some point we forget to nourish our spiritual need. That is to live life with love, humility and gratitude. It may sound impossible to put into action but yes, it is possible with a great faith to God we can outshine the good and surmount the greatest challenge of being Christian and live life with meaning. Before I was invited to join the Christian Life Program (CLP), I know that there is God and I believe in Him. From a family that doesn’t religiously go to church we don’t see it as a duty of being a Christian. So long I don’t do detrimental things I am therefore a good Christian. At the age of 21 I tried my luck abroad, I worked in Saudi hoping to speed up my career and help my family. Being away was a struggle and homesickness was the enemy I fought each ...

Pray Over Workshop By Sis. Maricar Mandani

In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.-Romans 8:26-27 How do we pray and how do we pray for others effectively? Most of us would like to pray for others, but to be honest we don't know how and what to pray. We are often filled with good intentions but without enough knowledge to utter, we tend to use the same phrases over and over or we fall into patterns, or sometimes we simply are not good in expressing with words. As part of our preparation for our CLP Talk 9- Receiving the power of the Holy Spirit- the much awaited session for every CLP. We had a PRAY OVER WORKSHOP, held last August 15, 2017. The teaching was led by Tita Lourdes, here we experienced and practiced a pray over session. Learned how to ...
