Attending the SFC PRE-ICON 2018 is the best experienced in my life since this is another milestone in the history of SFC where we celebrated the 25 years of God’s faithfulness and generosity. This is my first time to attend the SFC PRE-ICON and truly Gods let me feel more of His love on me.
Honestly, at first, the only thing that I want to attend is SFC ICON since I don’t have enough budget. But on the day of my birthday, our Chapter Head, Bro. Ben Corbo Bañola suggested to me to attend also the SFC PRE-ICON and he shared to me how good it is to meet other SFC all over the world and do activities with other SFC brothers and sisters. So, I think about it, and then after thinking and with an open heart for whatever the Lord will speak to me, I registered on SFC PRE-ICON. God’s really want me to feel His love also in SFC PRE-ICON not only in SFC ICON because He help me to find a way to have a budget for it.
As the SFC PRE-ICON is near I have experienced countless struggles, dealt with problems and was challenged that sometimes losing my interest to attend the SFC PRE-ICON and SFC ICON. But I prayed a lot to God to guide and help me on the trials that I am facing and cope on that. Truly God never left on my side and feel His presence in my life through the people surrounds me like my family, friends and some people He used as an instrument to relay His message to me. I felt more GOD’S LOVE in my trials. And so, I still able to attend the SFC events.
As the date is near to the SFC PRE-ICON which is February 13 to February 15, 2018, I get excited and at the same time feel nervous because I am the only one from Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE who will attend the SFC PRE-ICON. So I don’t have anybody that I knew. But I know, God will be on my side all the time. And I am very much excited also on how God will speak to me on that SFC PRE-ICON and for the messages that He wants me to hear.
For our Day 1 activities, we had Orientation, Getting to Know, Immersion and Welcome Party. For our Immersion, they divided us per group and I’m included in Prison group since that our Immersion is in prison to visit ‘person with deprived of liberty’ (as per the police officer, they called prisoners in that term instead of prisoners). Our group is really awesome and I get comfortable easily with them. I was assigned to Tatay Garcia who is already 60+ and senior citizen. He was got imprisoned due to drugs. According to him, his family is not anymore visiting him. He felt sad about it and he really miss his family. As per my conversation with Tatay Garcia, I got to know that they have bible study and some activities that will help them to renew their life and faith into a better one inside the cell. After our conversation, we have given a chance to pray for them. I felt that the Holy Spirit guide me all throughout my conversations and prayer with Tatay Garcia. It really feels good after I prayed to Tatay Garcia. We finished our first day with the welcome party and God send me His message by using one of our Titos, having a small talk with Tito Bern Gabayan and so happy because I gained friends so, I am not alone anymore.
During our SFC PRE-ICON Day 2, we do tree planting and Clean up drive. In spite of the heat of the sun, we are all smiling in doing our activity. At night, we have SFC Grand Reunion. Such a beautiful event. Old friends meet together again, we get to know how SFC started, and so proud that I belong to REKINDLE which is the starting year of being an SFC is from 2013 – 2018.
For our Day 3, we went to Rainforest Park in Pasig for our Rn’R / Tour. We enjoyed it specially being with SFC brothers and sisters. We chat, we do a lot of bonding. And then at night, we have a Closing Party and guess where it is? Of course, JOLLIBEE!!! We are so happy; we feel that we are kids again especially when JOLLIBEE dance for us.
So my PRE-ICON is such a very worthy experience. True enough, God made me experienced the SFC PRE-ICON because He wants me to feel more of His love to me by showering His love to me through my SFC brothers and sisters, from our Titos and Titas and for those persons that we encounter on this event. It’s really a day of surprises, affirmation and empowering love.
During my journey in this SFC PRE-ICON, I come to realized that God is a very personal God. The Lord expressed His sweetest love for me in that PRE-ICON in the following:
First, He emptied me from all my fears and doubts. All the messages that I received through Titos, brothers and sisters, speaks about His plans and assurance that He is the one taking control of my life and situation. Fears and doubts no longer succumbs me, in my heart I know that I have surrendered everything and put my trust in Him. I am confident that the Lord who loves me unconditionally will also allow me not to put limits on my loving.
Second, He let me know and assured me on His plan in my life. The desire that I have in my heart God assured me that it’s the plan the He has on me since He is the one who planted it in my heart.
Third, God wants me to share the experienced that I had in this PRE-ICON. I will continue to share the wonderful experienced that I had during my SFC PRE-ICON journey if it will be a way also of evangelizing others.
God’s manifested His love in the most perfect way through Titos and Titas who always guide and serve as parents to us and of course with my SFC brothers and sisters during this SFC PRE-ICON journey.
Let’s remain to be hopeful and always trust in the Lord at all time because GOD’S LOVE IS RELENTLESS!
He will not get tired of loving us and letting us feel His love.
Let us continue to praise the Lord for His greatness, His faithfulness and His plans for us.
Truly GOD’S LOVE is RELENTLESS!
