My Africa Mission By Sis Abhie Catipon

It was this year that I desire to go again in a Mission, and this time I want to go to AFRICA…In which country, I don’t know yet. I asked God to reveal to me the country which He wants me to go, and low and behold God allowed me to go to UGANDA. (which was my First choice and Last destination)

Praise God for approved leave, for the giving me the finances that I need. I was able to get everything done before our flight knowing that I’m the last one to join the Batch 2 missionaries, with whom I don’t even know them yet.

I felt very excited at the same time anxious about what will happen to me there, the feeling that I was afraid of going out of my comfort zone.

We had Fast Track CLP which runs for 1 day like (10am to 5PM), we conducted COW and Household Meetings and Prayer Assembly, even we gather the members every night to have fellowship with them and to know them better.  We experienced how Africans specifically the Ugandans live out their faith and how they practice their religion specially when they are in the presence of the Holy Eucharist, how they respect their fellowmen and even us who seems like a stranger to them.

We met a lot of priest from different places, even attended the Luganda Mass which we are introduced as SFC Missionaries and taste different kinds of their local food. Even one of the Filipino priest “Fr Raymond” whom we met there treated us Lunch and Dinner. We are also able us to meet the Children in the Teresa Homes where we teach the KFC Dance and Missionaries of the Poor, where the Orphans and Abandoned Kids were staying with the Brothers who are voluntarily committing their selves to help the people who are really in need.

This mission reminds me a lot of things, that I was blessed that I don’t need to compare myself with others, that God will always meet us whenever He leads us too, that we will never go wrong if we choose God’s way. To pray, discern and act about our heart desire because Faith without Action is dead.

Going on mission is about witnessing, it is discovering that in every weakness that we have God will be our strength. It is when we give, that we receive so much more. This mission will lead me more closer to God because God is in every person that I meet, He is in every situation that I have been and He is always with me.

For that may God be praised!

My CLP Experience Christian Life Program: Unbox Your Faith By Bro Joseph Fruto

“A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stamp, a god-shaped life is a flourishing tree”  -Proverbs 11:28   We are in the world where people give so much avidness to wealth, technology, trend, etc. At some point we forget to nourish our spiritual need. That is to live life with love, humility and gratitude. It may sound impossible to put into action but yes, it is possible with a great faith to God we can outshine the good and surmount the greatest challenge of being Christian and live life with meaning. Before I was invited to join the Christian Life Program (CLP), I know that there is God and I believe in Him. From a family that doesn’t religiously go to church we don’t see it as a duty of being a Christian. So long I don’t do detrimental things I am therefore a good Christian. At the age of 21 I tried my luck abroad, I worked in Saudi hoping to speed up my career and help my family. Being away was a struggle and homesickness was the enemy I fought each ...

Pray Over Workshop By Sis. Maricar Mandani

In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.-Romans 8:26-27 How do we pray and how do we pray for others effectively? Most of us would like to pray for others, but to be honest we don't know how and what to pray. We are often filled with good intentions but without enough knowledge to utter, we tend to use the same phrases over and over or we fall into patterns, or sometimes we simply are not good in expressing with words. As part of our preparation for our CLP Talk 9- Receiving the power of the Holy Spirit- the much awaited session for every CLP. We had a PRAY OVER WORKSHOP, held last August 15, 2017. The teaching was led by Tita Lourdes, here we experienced and practiced a pray over session. Learned how to ...
