“You can make many plans but the lord's purpose will prevail."
-Proverbs 19:21
Chapter A2’s teaching "Discovering Your Purpose and Passion” was held last July 21, 2017. This teaching is indeed a reminder to me because the past few days before that day was really tough and I was struggling. Rejection, frustration, the feeling of being unworthy and purposeless. I was really frustrated not to get what I really want. During the teaching, something I realized is that whatever plans we have if we don't allow God to be with us it will be impossible and meaningless.
There are core values to achieve a goal in life.
* If we want to be successful in our career, we need not to compromise integrity, do not commit any sinful acts to achieve success but always strive for excellence.
*Serve God by serving our families, we need to reject any acts of violence that endanger life, we reject abortion, pre-marital/extra marital sex, adultery. We are called to be faithful and responsible.
*If we are called to the single life, we need to serve God by refraining from any homosexual activity but serve God joyfully and meaningful.
*Promote, preserve and protect the life and mission of CFC and its ministries, we need to be faithful to our covenant and always be available to serve.
The reason why we are here because God has a purpose. He allows us first to know our purpose before giving what He intends to give to us or before giving what we really want.
During the talk someone asked me, “Why are you serving in SFC?” Is it because of Him or is it because of someone? Honestly, at first I was very eager to join the CLP out of curiosity and wanting to meet new people, but later on I realized that it is God who I need to meet and know.
I believe in God. I believe that He created all that we know, and that He is the actual purpose of our lives. This ultimately lead me to believe that the purpose of life would be to follow His ways and to obey His rules.
It all depends on what you believe in to determine your purpose in life. These days it may be hard to fulfill our Christian role in life, but I think that by accomplishing worldly goals (such as getting an education/job) while serving God is the way to go about living. I know for sure that we didn't come into this world to buy things and die. We came here because each one of us has a unique purpose that gives us a unique drive. So here I'm asking myself ~ “what is it that I do naturally? What is it that I do the best?” I believe if the person finds such an activity, he will be contented, fulfilled.
What is your passion in life? This question is usually asked during any job interview. For me, my passion in life is to serve people and making them satisfied through my service that's why I am in the customer service industry. Passion is something that you are good at and it is something that you really love to do. Discovering and claiming something you love to do has an amazing effect on your entire life.
If you’re struggling to find your passion, even after trying what feels like doing everything, talk to God and seek for His guidance and grace and He will never fail you.
Think back on your life, and remember things you wanted to be, the habits you developed naturally, the games you played, the books you read, and see how they may apply to your life and career today. You might be surprised by the connection points that have been right with you.
You are where God wants you to be at this very moment. Every experience is part of His divine plan. Your faith has to be greater than your fear. When life seems hard just remember God knew you before you were born, and He has amazing things in store for you. His timing is always perfect.
To God be all the glory and praise!
